Stems oozing amber gummy substance; stem drying and turning tan brown in color; lesion may girdle stem and kill plant;
Rotate crop to a non-host for 2-3 years to reduce disease build-up
Avoid water stress to plants;
Plow crop debris deep into soil or remove and destroy after harvest.
