The eggfruit caterpillar bores into aubergine and the native budworm will bore into the fruit of many vegetables, especially, capsicums, tomatoes and sweet corn
Break off the bottom leaves of brassicas, cabbages, leafy greens that have already been nibbled as foliage on the soil, for creepy crawlys to eat first, before getting to your prize veg!
Watch out for caterpillars on your leafy greens.
Caterpillars are voracious chewing pests that can devour entire plants if tleft to their own devices.
Keep caterpillars under control with a spray mixture, of 1-3 drops of eco-dish soap into a spray bottle of water.
Spray the whole plant (under and on top of the leaves) to deter these nibblers!
Use a used toothbrush to manually remove caterpillar eggs that have been lain on the underside of leaves
Use chilli spray to deter caterpillars (1/2 cup of fresh chillies 2 cups of water 1 tablespoon of washing up liquid strainer, muslin or coffee filter to strain solution spray bottle)
Lemon balm, parsley, and tansy attract tachinid fly and wasps, which kill harmful caterpillars
